IAWRT Nepal announces winners of short film competition

The purpose of this competition was to encourage female filmmakers to make high-quality films and to raise awareness against gender-based violence.

On International Human Rights Day today and the final day of the 16-day of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, IAWRT Nepal hosted its 3rd IAWRT Nepal Short Film Competition in the Rastriya Naachghar with the slogan "Stories Through Women's Lens."

 
Given the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, the event was organized in a small gathering of media experts, filmmakers, journalists, and IAWRT members.
 
 
The competition received 17 short films produced and/or directed by female filmmakers. The four best movies and their directors were awarded.
 
Congratulations to the winners!
-1st Position - 'Falguni', a film directed by Sarita Shah
-2nd Position- 'Lalita,' directed by Pushpa Joshi and Yanjila Joshi,
-3rd Position- 'Samaira,' directed by Shrisha Kunwar and Ashmita Lawati.
-Best Film in Climate Change Category- 'The Mountains are Angry' directed by Sonam Choeky Lama
