Following the global consultation that was organized within the framework of the Women Make the News 2010 campaign under the theme “Towards Gender Sensitive Indicators for Media: Best Practices for Gender Perspective in Media and in Media Content”, UNESCO and IFJ have jointly prepared the first draft of the Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media (GSIM).

The ultimate goal of the Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) project initiated by IAWRT Cameroon Chapter is eradication of female circumcision in Cameroon, a harmful traditional practice covered by Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). It also looks forward to a re-awakening of interest of the media on this form of violence against women.
The objective of the Anti-Trafficking project in India is to conduct workshops in remote villages to train community leaders on how to identify the signs of trafficking g and to take preventive measures.
IAWRT provides support to its members in producing Short Documentaries. These are inspiring stories produced by women about women and the various issues confronting them at all levels and how they assert their rights and inspire other people in their respective communities.
