FOKUS - Forum for Women and Development, Networkers SouthNorth and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly hosted the Women in the Land of Conflict international conference in Oslo, Norway on 23 -25 November 2008.
The main goal for the conference was to highlight the theme of women and gender in conflict and-post-conflict situations and the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
IAWRT was well represented at this conference by the full Board Executive: Olya Booyar, President; Bandana Rana, Vice President; Elizabeth Roxas, Treasurer; and Gunilla Ivarsson, Secretary.
As the conference was in Oslo, they were joined by the Head of the Norway Chapter, Kirsten Brathen.
