The IAWRT BOOK
On the second day of the 33rd Biennial Conference on 18 November 2009, IAWRT Vice-President Ms. Racheal Nakitare, Ms Christina Ruhnbro and Gundel Krauss Dahl proudly launched the IAWRT history book “Voices/Pictures”. This book unfolds the story of how women began to speak in the broadcasting history. When the Dutch radio journalist and economist Lilian van der Goot in the aftermath of World War II brought together colleagues from countries that have been fierce enemies, allies or neutral, she was convinced that a woman's voice can serve a mutual understanding. IAWRT has grown from these roots into a worldwide network with over 300 members in over 50 countries. This book is a story of sixty years of foresight, struggles and achievements. Electronic version of this Book is available at the Publications section of this website.
