IAWRT@60
In October 1951, the International Association of Radio Women was born after initial meetings among Catherine King (Australia), Dorothy Lewis (USA) and Lilian van der Goot (Holland). In 1957, Lilian resigned and the IAWRW from a friendly club became centrally organized association with formal committees and resolutions. Thus, the name was changed to International Association of Women in Radio & Television (IAWRT) and was accredited NGO at UN. Now, the organization has gone a long way and is now celebrating its 60th year and paying tribute to the great women Presidents by mounting an exhibit entitled, IAWRT@60, in time for the 34th IAWRT Biennial Conference at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21-24 November 2011.
