IN THE SPOTLIGHT
LA Femme Film Festival
WHERE IS IT
Beverly Hills, CA
WHEN IS IT
October 5 to 8, 2006
In the Spotlight is the LA FEMME FILM
FESTIVAL in Los Angeles, CA, championing the
work and talent of women filmmakers,
writers, and producers from all corners of
the world. The festival does not limit men's
involvement, but seeks to highlight those
films with a woman in one or more of the key
positions of Producer, Writer, and Director.
LA Femme is about support. The main
objectives are to
1) Platform emerging talent and
support established women in cross-over
roles
2) Distribute the features showcased
in the festival with domestic theatrical
releases and home video distribution, and 3)
Create funds for finishing features and
supporting feature film production for
women.
For selected features and documentaries, LA
Femme will assist the filmmakers in finding
distribution outlets, and selected shorts
will be offered automatic distribution on a
national broadband network. LA Femme
maintains various distribution alliances,
and plans are in the works for a cable
partnership to air selected festival
entries.
