The 14th AMIC Annual Conference ‘Media &
Society in Asia: Transformations and
Transitions’ was held during 18-21 July 2005
in Beijing, People’s Republic of China.
IAWRT President Ms.
Jai Chandiram and IAWRT Member Ms. Gloria
Khamkar (University of Pune) presented
Seminar Papers at the conference. Ms. Jai
did a presentation on ‘Media and Gender:
Avenues for Empowerment’ and Ms. Gloria
presented her paper on ’Impact of Media on
Youth in India’.
More than 150 scholars from different parts
of the world participated in the conference.
They presented the papers on varied range of
topics such as Comparative Media Systems,
Media and Education, Business Journalism in
Asia, Critical Media Issues.
