NRK'S SAMI DIVISION BUILDS TV AND RADIO NETWORK

The Sami division of the Norwegian Broadcasting Cooperation (NRK) has started a new project trying to build up a common network linking indigenous TV and radio-stations worldwide. The main purpose of this project is to cooperate with other indigenous broadcasters worldwide by means of exchange news-stories and documentaries.

The common network will be based on a website, mail- and address list. Any accessed indigenous broadcaster within this network cooperation can view, listen and download new stories in full quality. The objective of this network is to quickly exchange breaking news and other information on indigenous issues.

The website is already under construction at our main office in Oslo and we will put up a FTP--server as soon as possible.

The journalism should here be in center of this project and we are prepared to share the indigenous world's stories worldwide. This means also that other indigenous broadcasters can present overseas/external TV news where indigenous people are in focus, as an alternative of the mainstream news. In this way we can broadcast comparable or related news stories from all around the world. Likewise, accessed broadcasters can order original new stories in full broadcast quality from each other

In this manner of activity we hope you and your company can see the benefits of such cooperation.

We also want to reach and make contact with reporters who works especially with indigenous stories around the world.
